What percentage do you guys typically set your pass defensive tactics at?
% short, % medium, and $ long?

If you scout the opposing team, check every regular game (not scrims, preseason or tourney games). Then select All Passes. Find whichever one has the most and divide that number by the overall total (ex: 300 total passes thrown - 120 Short, 130 Medium, 50 Long. To determine the medium percentage, divide 130 by 300 for 0.43333333333.). Look at the first 3 numbers following the decimal point (.433). If the third number is 4 or lower, then the percentage will be 43%. If it's 5 or higher, then the percentage is 44%. Do the same thing with the second largest and then auto set the third to get a total of 100%.
For zone or man, If it's a run heavy/all run team, then 100% zone. Otherwise, 100% man.

1. you are in rookie. Builds are so unbalanced, it really is a crap shoot. little of what you do tactically will matter.
2. despite the %'s making you think that you will better defend the pass if your set % is close to your opponents passing % it doesn't really work that way. Each combination is a specific base defense, and even then, down and distance will override those in casual defense. For example, pass focus, medium coverage, man to man is typically a cover 2 defense shell. run focus will typically be a cover 1 or cover 0.

According to the percentage shown for Short passes, 41% is the percentage. 22 divided by 82 is not 41%, it's 27%.
The percentage shown is how many of those passes were gains. 9 of the 22 short passes thrown is 41% of 22 (0.4090909090909091 to be exact)..
Not to mention the fact that the percentages for short, medium and long passes that is shown on the scouting page add up to 136%.

According to the percentage shown for Short passes, 41% is the percentage. 22 divided by 82 is not 41%, it's 27%.
