So I read the QB settings question thread and it didn't really answer my question so I'm making a new thread...

My QB just threw 6 picks, granted we won the game, but still that's pretty bad considering the league he is in. His passing setting was at 10 lofty and hasn't had a problem until now. So my question is the older they get do you need to adjust your settings to more bullet?

I haven't built a ton of QB's and when I used to OC in regular leagues I typically trusted their judgment but I think the few QB's I've had I was set to -70? Any suggestions from you OC/QB guru's on where he should be now?

http://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/player.pl?player_id=4655656 I know his build is closed, but just posting so you can see age and what not.

ok, I figured it out. Not only is your player ok, you guys trashed them, looks like a great player!

the problem is you ran into a ringer, the single greatest cb of all times, this was a game for the ages! We simply bow our heads and give credit and kudos, where afforded.

Lol thanks.

Apparently I did. He can thank me later for his DMVP.

I mean it's just one game and I'm probably over-reacting, but would rather be safe than sorry down the road.

There's lots of factors.

Passing is enhanced in the early leagues to make them playable.

Builds also mature as more Attributes get into the 80s and 90s.

AEQ can also become, a factor. For example, in this case maybe INT% gear.

You should always be trying to tweak your player to make him better

it depends on the type of throws mostly used. if your OC is calling a bunch of longer passes, you better get the ball there ASAP as CBs in glb cover way more ground than real life

I understand that, just was curious what people prefer their QB's passing style slider to be at around this age level. I switched it to more bullet, guess we will see how that works on the next game

I'm the OC. It's also casual and I only use the preset option for offense, which limits what I can call. It's mainly random. If we were losing more games I'd use more than just the presets which I'd be able to choose %'s on short, medium, long passes, but there is no need for it right now.

Just was looking for opinions on where other QB's or other OC's prefer their passing styles.

Lofty only good in combination with the route distance setting, else bullet the way to go.

I think the d200-d240 season is the hardest for the qb bc the lower level enhancement is gone and builds still have some holes and no SAs. Plus there are a lot of INT builds out there.

I don't know 100% if this is the answer you seek but, when I build QB's I base my slider setting off of his Strength rather than his passing ability... since strength likely more effects the SPEED/ARCH of the pass than the passing skill does. I also use the same logic I've used (with a lot of success) when considering how to set the slider for 'elusive' on HB's (or non-power style returners)... which is to start at the mid-way setting and only increase it when the dot's agility got high enough to do so. Basically, with a QB, if he has a Strength of 40 or less, then the slider set to Bullet in order to compensate for the lack of strength. But, once the strength hits 50, I'd start pushing it towards 'lofty' just a little. Not crazy so, but just a little (maybe down 5). The more strength the QB gets, the more you can dial it down since the QB's strength it starting to cause issues (like you might notice more dropped passes or PD's or INT's since the pass is now flattening out and the speed is making it harder to catch cleanly). In the end, once Strength hits 90+, I generally won't go below 75 bullet simply because it seems to not gain any benefits below that number. In the end, the setting you choose should balance the ability (strength) of the QB against the results he's getting. More Lofty won't always mean less INT's... any more than more Bullet does. Watch the PD's and the dropped passes because they'll give you a more accurate idea about if your setting is out of whack. (BTW, especially if your passes are getting batted down at the LOS too much. Then I KNOW you're too high on Bullet setting.)

Try -50. Review the game...see how many drops, pass deflections, etc. occur. If 10 drops and only 2 pass deflections, drop your slider a bit b/c you're throwing too hard for your receivers to catch the ball. No drops and a handful of deflections, slide it the other way.

I was going to try -30 for this upcoming game today, but now that you mention it, it makes more sense to start at -50 and adjust from there.
