My two centavos? Don't completely sell out. Look. The game is screwed and skewed towards the running game, no doubt. And it's a lot easier to make and run a 'run only' team. But why some OC's don't figure on doing some limited passing as a part of the package, I'm not sure. Just having the capability to pass at any time, and occasionally doing so will really frustrate the opposition. If you ran the ball 75% of the time and passed 25% of the time, then you'd be pretty hard to plan against vs a team that only runs.

i thought that Dend contain play was helping for some teams, especially if the de's are quick. i also noticed a trend to double cover wrs with the safeties so they are in position on the outside, completely abandoning any kind of deep zone coverage. it can lead to a huge passing game for better built running qbs. I mean if your team has good defensive players you do have options if you think it through, but if the builds are pretty bad there is little hope.

Part of the reason casual rushing teams are so tough to beat is that the blocking WR's are easy to build and hard to beat. Problem with passing a little is that your receivers have to be able to catch a little, which would cut into their blocking builds.

In regular those are options, but we are talking about the Casual leagues in this thread. Can't do any of that in Casual.

I've seen some of those builds and, if done that way, I agree with you. Thing is you can still build a good blocking WR that can catch. Here's my last one;

It's not my best... I did not get blocking as high as I wanted... but he does a fine job blocking DB's and can block well enough against LB's to allow the runner to get past. I think people get enamored with building dots that can hold a block for 24 hours when all that is needed is to hold it long enough to allow the runner to get past. Most runners are good enough builds that, once past the block, it's gone. The WR I'm showing had 21 drops in it's very first season (of course... that's when you dot sucks the most)... 3 drops the next season... one drop the next season... and none since. He's been on mostly rushing teams his whole career so he doesn't get thrown to a lot and the QB's aren't built for high quality passing... so targets to receptions numbers look wonky but not overly bad when compared to any other receivers. I've built better WR's like this but this is my only current one.

(P.S. I use the Power Receiver arch to build with, not the ST arch)

The good all rush teams (in Casual anyhow) have pancake machines at wr.

I think they're easy to stop in casual if they don't know how to properly build an all rushing team...which the majority of them don't.
