This one seems like a total selfish VA lol. Has anyone ever taken it? It seems kind of useless otherwise.

From what I understand it encourages the QB to target a receiver that may not have the usually desired "separation" from a defender but whom might still (otherwise) win the catch-ball roll because of height, jumping, sticky hands, etc. So IF the agent has the go-ahead from the offensive coordinator, its not necessarily a "selfish" SA in that context.

It is a selfish VA but one that's designed to be used in that manner by a good WR builder and his OC. If you think of it like this it might help. Eli Manning has several quality receivers he can throw to at any time... yet, when he NEEDS to throw to someone he TRUSTS, then he throws to Odel. And, if you consider his abilities against the rest of the WR corps then you''d understand why and I suspect Go To Guy is an attempt to replicate that.
Early in the game's history, I think this VA was worthy. Now that the builder pool has thinned and most left here can build p'much the same high quality WR's (meaning receiving WR's only), then the VA doesn't mean nearly as much and, as such, I don't think anyone uses it much.

I haven't seen it used either. There is the second part of the va for +1% Pass quality per level. So you could take your 25%pq QB up to 40% on throws to this receiever. Seems that would raise the score for that pass.

This is a great VA, primarily for the reason that Qillar brought up. Anything that improves your QB's pass quality by that much, is a huge bonus. Figuring out how to incorporate this VA into your offense is the tricky part.

I always thought it was primarily a 'Slot receiver' VA as they're the ones that either; #1, find themselves in heavy traffic so any bonus to catching would be a big help there, #2, they're also the WR that has the better routes in 3rd and long (when it would most likely be hugely important), and/or #3, the Slot is the one WR that generally comes in on passing downs mostly (unless you're on an all passing team that constantly runs 3,4,&5 wide formations 24/7). One more thing, I'd have to check the playbook to be sure but the Slot WR also gets more 'wheel routes' than most which is another good route for targeting.
