I would rather take +3 speed or a 5% break tackle that I would need to enhance to end up with a +3 speed, +5% break tackle piece.

Yeah. Even selecting a +3 strength with no accompanying bonus would be better than what you posted, Slocus. You really want that 5% over most anything else. I would even take a +2 speed and 5% BT piece. But never a 3% piece.

To play devil's advocate...

If you've already got 2 pieces of maxed out BT% gear, then that one will be the 3rd , which means it's really a 3.25% piece, instead of the 3.75% piece it could be.

What could you do with the tokens you'd save? Train 4-way longer? Convert into SPs at the end?

Maybe in theory, your CEQ slot is now freed up. Maybe you do Power Thru which could save you 10-18 SPs which you could invest in more Speed.

It's up to you really and how you want to shape the rest of the build.
