Here's the playoff picture after 11 games.

The number in {brackets} next to each team is their "magic number." ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_number_%28sports%29 ) Any combination of wins by your team or losses by the team you need to finish ahead of means you clinch a playoff spot.

EASTERN CONFERENCE
1 Eleven Wise Monkeys 11-0 [CLINCHED PLAYOFF SPOT] {2 for 1st round at home}
2 Louisville Nighthawks 10-1 {2}
3 New York Warriors 8-3 {3}
4 Boston Massacre 8-3 {4}
5 New York Hope 7-4 {5}
6 Bristol Bullets 7-4 {4}
7 Dallas Rampage 7-4 {5}
8 Alcatraz Island Jailbreakers 6-5 {5}

9 TCC's Wax-Bustin Warriors 6-5 {6}
10 Miami Sharks 5-6 {7}
11 Syracuse Souls 4-7 {8}
12 Colonial Zoners 3-8 {9}
13 Cleveland Firebirds 3-8 {9}
14 Hartford Musician 2-9 {10}
15 Baltimore Knights 1-10 [ELIMINATED]
16 Richmond Retros 0-11 [ELIMINATED]

Monkeys see, Monkeys do! They crushed the NY Hope to secure a spot in the playoffs. They now have a new magic number to set their sights on: 2. If they meet that number, they're guaranteed to play at home in the 1st round of the playoffs.

Meanwhile, Louisville could be the next team to clinch a playoff spot. Their magic number is 2, and with Cleveland and Hartford still left on their schedule, Louisville's odds look good.

Hartford stayed alive with a win over Richmond, but Baltimore was eliminated when they lost to Colonial. Hartford still has to win out, and Boston is next on their schedule. The fat lady may be about to sing for the Musician.

WESTERN CONFERENCE
1 Oklahoma City Spartans 11-0 [CLINCHED PLAYOFF SPOT] {3 for 1st round at home}
2 Los Angeles Reign 10-1 [CLINCHED PLAYOFF SPOT] {4 for 1st round at home}
3 Over The Rhine Red Dots 9-2 {2}
4 Little Haiti Voodoo 8-3 {3}
5 Florida Bulls 8-3 {2}
6 San Jose Chupacabra 8-3 {2}
7 South Otto Fragile Porcelain Mice 7-4 {3}
8 Fresno Fire 6-5 {4}
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
9 Reno Marauders 5-6 {7}
10 Vallonia BeaverHunters 4-7 {7}
11 Colorado Springs Flyers 3-8 {9}
12 Minden Musketeers 3-8 {9}
13 Bay Area Bastards 3-8 {9}
14 Oklahoma City Outlaws 1-10 [ELIMINATED]
15 Boston Boogie Monsters 1-10 [ELIMINATED]
16 Minnesota Americans 1-10 [ELIMINATED]

Reno's loss allowed both the OKC Spartans and the LA Reign to clinch playoff spots by winning today. Over The Rhine could follow suit... they play Reno next, and a win will clinch a spot for the Red Dots.

At the other end, Minnesota, Boston, and the OKC Outlaws all lost and have all been eliminated from playoff contention. Minden plays #8 Fresno next, and a Minden loss means they're eliminated from the playoff hunt. A Minden loss also means that if Colorado Springs or Bay Area loses as well, they'll be out too. But if Minden wins, everyone stays alive for one more game.

It's safe to say that Minden's fan base has just tripled.

Nooo... if Louisville loses one more game, they can still finish 14-2 if they win the other 4. And if you go 2-3 in that same stretch of games, you'd finish 13-3... behind Louisville.

Mathematically, all the Monkeys have clinched so far is a spot in the playoffs. At this point, it could still theoretically be the 8th spot, though that would pretty much require a disasterous 0-5 finish. But as unlikely as that is, it's not impossible either.

I tend to stay away from arrogance but in this case ill fall prey to it. I think in week 4 I said if I could win the next 2 games (time may be off....) I would have homefield throughout. we have had the toughest schedule so far, the easiest remaining and hold all the tiebreakers.

with that being said, if the nighthawks lose again, we have clinched homefield

I'll stick with math, Mykel.
