If a defensive player forces a turnover and collects the ball via fumble and/or int. Is he now considered an offensive player and any offensive SA's now fire (spin ect)? Just curious.
Forum > FAQ's, Player Guides and Newbie Help > Question about offensive SA's firing for Defense
Yea I would imagine, cause you can build a DE as a kick returner and have spin(ect) fire
I wouldn't waste SP's on it with my own dots though
Unless I eventually get around to making a team of 55 punters

Thanks, it's something I've debated "testing" but wasn't too optimistic on it's effect.

Most players fall down right after an INT so I don't know how effective it will be.
I've always wondered if having Balance beefed up any would help that. It SHOULD... but I don't know if it does (even though it's mostly tied to blocking/being blocked).

Most CB's have high AGI you would think that would help.
I think it is a nerf in the sim so that the CB's don't pick 6 - 50 % of the time.
They are usually almost wide open. They should be able to return 10-20 yards every time but it does not happen that way.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't help. I mean sure, logic dictates that "balance" would help in any situation, but this SA was created for the sole purpose of blocking interactions. I doubt it's coded to work on other things like INTs, reception, being tackled, etc.

This. There was a time when a lot of INTs ended as pick 6, so the userbase complained about it and now almost every INT or Fum recovery is returned for 0 yards.

I've seen some CBs break a good amount of tackles on their way to a pick 6 though too

Like in the OPT vs. SCM playoff game ? It's probably jumping that breaks them diving tackles (and 8 tackling obv).

Just so you guys know.
The roll to stay on your feet after an INT is based on Carrying.
Yep... that's retarded, and it's why most every Defender built for INT's falls down just as often as those who aren't built for INT's. But it;s how Bort decided to solve the problem of too many pick sixes back in S...23? There were a number of good solutions suggested to at least reward agents who made dots who focused highly on catching... but they all were ignored in favor of basing the roll on an attribute that no agent in their right mind would invest in on their defensive dots.
Agility has nothing to do with it.
Catching has nothing to do with it.
Jumping has nothing to do with it.
Vision has nothing to do with it.
Strength has nothing to do with it.
The entire roll is based on the 8 points your defender has in carrying. And that's it. Thank Bort.

Oh yeah! Q&A. I seem to remember those from many many years ago. Suppose those should be dusted off every other year or so just so we don't forget what we use to have.
