Yeah, these are soft caps. http://wiki.goallineblitz.com/index.php/Ability_Softcaps When you get to the next soft cap, then every attribute in the ability costs one more Skill point to upgrade. For example. If my speed just hit 48.07, then it will cost me two of the five SPs (Skill Points) I get per level up to upgrade my speed to 49.07, and when my speed gets to 60.52, then it will cost three. You should multitrain your four main attributes, the ones with stars beside them in the assign Skill Points screen. Do no assign skill points right away. When your skills go up, they train worse. To make the best out of training, do not assign Skill Points until one of your main attributes can hit the next soft cap with what Skill Points you have at that moment. Assign as many skill points as needed to that main skill, and do not be tempted to spend the rest until you can bump another attribute to it's next soft cap. Keep in mind that one of your attributes (Speed) should be significantly better than the rest. Also do not boost until playoffs, or if you really want to make the best of training, then wait until day 40. Effective level is the average Skill Points in that position in your league. So how you allocate your SPs techincally doesn't matter to your effective level, but how effectively you train is all that matters. Also you must be getting 15 plays a game to be earning adequate XP.

Very good explanation...until the last part. First of all, where you allocate your SPs makes a huge difference in your EL. The faster you get main attributes up and the sooner/longer that you 4-way multi-train both help increase effective level. As does avoiding putting them into SAs, never out SPs into SAs until at least lvl 66-68.
And everybody gets equal XP now if you are on a roster...boosting early EVERY season can make you lose out on ~500xp though.
