which one plays a bigger affect would make more sense for strength but there is a lot in this game that doesn't make sense

Build a free HB and find out.

Old studies showed Carrying to be a bigger contribution but I would argue that they are pretty similar. If I were going for purely up the middle type results or building a break tackle rushing QB I would likely go strength over carrying.

I thought carrying also helped in the firing of juke, spin, and other kinds of "break/avoid" tackles? If so, wouldn't that make it the more valuable skill? (Will add that, if building a Power HB strength is usually what I see higher than carrying so I'm seriously asking more about non-Power HB's builds. Danka.)

I think Strength is probably a little bigger than Carrying in the Break Tackle roll itself, but Carrying is MUCH larger in the anti-fumble roll, carrying also shows up more in the other rolls that happen when carrying the ball, such as fakes.

I've always look at 80 as the absolute lowest and 90+ to be most desirable on Ball Carriers.

It used to be a sneaky way to up the BT score without triggering DvG, but these days a back with less than 70 strength can't seem to do shit anyway.

103 carrying 98 strength or reverse them

either way you should end up fine

if it is a PHB that just goes up the middle then strength 1st, but PHB sweeps are pretty overpowered these days so I like carrying 100+ and 95+ strength personally but again, either works

Depends on the build. Carrying helps all builds, but Strength more important for a power back with Power Thru. Agility more important for an elusive that depends on Spin to break tackles.

According to Bort.

If the tackle is head on strength is weighted higher in the roll.
If the tackle is from the sides or behind carrying is weighted higher.

Why did you put 8 in First Step when it doesn't work on rushing plays?

Why would I put all my equipment in Strength? To see what would happen.

If GLB2 is any measure, First Step fires after you slow down from breaking a tackle without spin or power thru.
