I'm not so sure this idea was ever suggested, but I just wanna suggest it. Can we have a player of the game for the player that plays the best in a game? Whether it's an offensive or defensive player. I just think it's a good idea. What do you guys think though?

you already have the top 5 performers on the right at the box score... the player at the top of the list is the player of the game

I see what you're saying, but I just wonder what it would be life if only one players gets the player of the game award. Not 5 players. And more than half the time the top performers are on both teams.

the "top performers" is very lopsided toward offense. it would be nice to have it adjusted some.

also would be nice to have a game MVP for league championship games--maybe with a trophy.

I fucking like it.

many teams i've been on have picked their own game balls. but glb cant get the season mvp right, so no chance a game mvp could be chosen logically. its just too hard to compare offensive and defensive stats.

unless they separated offense, defense, and special teams...

still I think it's mostly covered by the top performers

defensive players pretty much need a HUGE game to make the top 5 unless there is almost no offensive scoring. back when i cared, i would have loved to have seen a situational scoring system for mvp.

Finally a decent post by TN

Was a suggestion long ago about changing this. Having the top Offensive, top defensive, and top ST performers from BOTH teams listed. This way even the losing team gets "some" love... and ALL aspects of the game get coverage. There's more than enough room to add in the extra mention (going from 5 to 6) and even beyond that if you feel like adding others into the mix. But it got not enough love and probably died a slow death.
