I think would be nice Feature to be able send a short message like a tweet to your friends or team members

The message could be sent from your main profile page and sent to there main profile page .

Hmm not a bad idea... You can use the team alert to notify your team... Not sure I would want all of my "friends" receiving a PM at once.

I click them just to stop the flashing.

only if you have the option to "unfriend" someone who has you on their friend list or other wise opt-in or opt-out of these,
