I'm not going to post my opinion. Just want to see what the rest of you anticipate happening when there are two GLBs.

You don't think WG is going to advertise and bring in a bunch of new users to GLB2 that will eventually find their way to the real GLB?

No.....why?.....because GLB1 has been around for 5 years and nothin has brought them here so far...don't see why they would just because there's a number 2 next to the GLB.
Only players I see playing GLB2 is maybe some GLB1 users.....No advertising.....no potential!!!!

They have a great track record for advertising this game.
I mean, there was that one side ad thing that appeared on that obscure unknown gaming website for a couple weeks, remember?

Not entirely true. Consider that GLB 1 was in BETA for a LONG time trying to get all the bugs worked outa it... and it's STILL being worked on today (just not nearly as much). I suspect that WG thought it might have a hard time attracting folks to something as complicated as GLB1. I mean, the "FAQ forum" is still handling questions that long time players know... but noobs must learn. And it can take a season or 2 or 3 or 4 to even get to where you feel your dots and/or teams are even CLOSE to being competitive. Being competitive soon keeps people IN longer. One of the major beefs about GLB is the amount of time it must consume just to become a "decent" player or a "decent" team owner... not to mention being a OC or a DC.
It's just not an easy sell to a world that thinks everything works like McDonalds. Where we want it 5 minutes ago. Short attention spans and limited attention spans abound out there. Hell, there's a new damned phone being released every other MONTH!!!
So I'm guessing that WG is looking for a much more "user friendly" game and they're hoping that GLB2 is that beast. They'll keep this one going as long as it helps them flesh out ideas here that can be used over there... and as long as people keep shoveling lotsa money into it. But I seriously doubt it will ever grow beyond what it is today... and, maybe someday, even die off when it has no further useful purpose... or not enough people playing anymore to warrant the cost of keeping it going.

I know, we need more threads about GLB2, I mean it's too bad they can't make a thread about GLB2, that is stickied, in Goallineblitz forum, that everyone can post in and discuss GLB2.
In fact someone should make a forum dedicated to talking about GLB2.....................
