What I mean is a MTM arc is more apt to go higher speed and less AGI which causes drift. Put that in zone and it will walk out. I am currently looking at 4 wide covers for lower levels with corners.....CB's are drifting way off but its a DAI/tactic/CDP thing. Base is a FS MTM build in deepzone will do like you said...hit the zone...once out there.....dancing with wolves

The DAI/tactic/CDP has absolutely nothing to do with a CB playing tight coverage on one play and then randomly giving a 10 yard cushion the next play.

I'm pretty sure it's just a sim thing.

obviously something is wonky.

so he dropped back 27 yards...... would it have been better if he stopped after 15yrds and just stood there at the other side of the 50yrd line?

just saying, he was completely out of the play. if he would have begun to slow down at the 45,crossed the 50 and came to rest at the 48... at the time the QB threw to the FB the closest receiver would have still been 12 yards away(the TE)

IMO, may have been better off playing that deep deep coverage, had a ball been completed to any receiver he could have prevented a score. On that particular play he wasn't gonna make any other play.

I don't think it's a bug at all. You told him to "Cover Zone Medium" - Deep Weak Half. And that is what he did.... and then some.

What do you make of this?

Same sort of behavior, but this time WRs enter his zone. (he's set to HB Weak - Deep Weak Half; SS is set to the opposite, but he still manages to sit in his zone normally)

ETA: forgot to link the play http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=2449672&pbp_id=4068061

well it is still a secondary zone assignment because HB didn't go in route weak side (stayed in to block).

It's not like when you just put them in zone and you can tell them "zone shallow, medium,or deep".
technically no receiver ever did enter the zone he was playing, he was playing DEEP , and half of the field. He did what he was instructed, he played "deep", he just "decided?" to play the deeper part of the designated zone. As for the SS, he must have just decided to play the shallow side of the designated zone.

Maybe if those receivers where faster they would have entered into the FS's "zone" faster than he got to it himself?

Obviously I am grasping at straws here, lol. But just like the play in OP there was nothing lost on the play as far as defense was concerned. Keeping both the TE and HB in to block on a trips play seems like a bad offensive play call to me. But that has nothing to do with this thread
