the problem with the punting and kicking ones is that, as sikora already pointed out, punters and kickers are already pretty damn good. Anything that would make them better would just make them insane. I mean I don't want to see 70 yard FGs etc

the radius ones are also a little bit scary to think of. I could just imagine them breaking the game

the other ones might happen, but with so much testing needed to make sure they don't screw something up, Im not sure how high of a priority it would be

I have one reason to be against this that I can think of. Right now it's a decent balance (here come the haters) when rolling for AEQ. The risk/reward is based on the current number of available upgrades. If you added more upgrades, you would cause more "unusable pieces" to show up when rolling and therefore upset the balance. The only way (I can see) to fix that (if your idea was implemented) is if the AEQ rolling system was revamped (which has been requested for so many seasons now it's epic) and I do believe Bort really doesn't wanna do that.
So... because of the negative effect it would have on the current rolling system, I gotta go no.

the easy solution to that would not having any of the new stuff available in the shop, similar to when they rolled out some new SAs none of those show up when shopping.

NGTH if only cuz it would require rebalancing the entire sim imo

Yeah. This too. Anytime you add such dynamics into a stable system, you have to re-tweak everything to bring the balance back. And hammer out bugs and issues and complaints that this is overpowered or underpowered, blah, blah, blah. It's not that we don't want new stuff... better stuff... but it comes with a price and that price seriously needs to be balanced in the aspect of "improvement vs work required to improve". We already have several VA's and SA's that virtually nobody uses at all that could be replaced... perhaps that is the better "thought" to this.

I'd argue though that if properly tested over a large number of games on the test server, you could get an idea of how to properly balance it before it ever goes live. I agree that the VAs and SAs need to be fixed as well. I'd also like to see new plays added, All of these things could unbalance the sim, but that's no reason we shouldn't pursue them, especially if the consequences can be mitigated by extensive testing on the test server.

These would require a decrease in the distance/accuracy without them, but would definitely add more interesting dynamics to the K/P game. I'd go as far to change Kick Distance and Kick Accuracy to Kickoff Distance/Accuracy and FG Distance/Accuracy.

Only allow one or the other, and whichever you choose reduces the other

I get that argument... but therein lies the "cost" aspect of the suggestion as far as GLB is concerned. Time spent... effort... payment of employees for said effort... coders for said effort.... While all a part of what happens usually whenever any sort of "change" is introduced to the game, GLB has kinda reached a point where major changes are less likely to happen as efforts are being poured into their new product(s). (Which we haven't seen yet but are promised such soon.)

the problem is there isn't a great way to test AND assemble metrics over a large number of games on the test server. its an extremely time consuming process.

GLB made that push about a year ago where Catch selected a bunch of guys to stabilize and balance the sim (largely the foundation we see today) across two off seasons. i suppose you could attempt something like this again though most of those folks involved then aren't really around today. specifically losing mike rogers really hurt GLB.

i give great pause as it took 2+ seasons to get the whole catch-fake thing balanced and we're talking adding X more % pieces. it will never happen
