I've heard there is controversy on whether it's worth the BT's to enhance an ability 3x. Some say the gain is worth the BT's some say not. Is there a definitive answer or is this a subject that will always be debated?
Forum > FAQ's, Player Guides and Newbie Help > Enhance ability 2x or 3x, is there a definitve answer?

I personally used to do the 3x's... But recently, I've pulled away from that and went with the 2x. My thinking was just that, it's not worth the BT loss. I figured it cost 18 BT's to enhance 3x's... if you enhance 4 or 5 attributes that's 72 to 90 BT's lost. That's 6 to 7 training sessions to earn those.... I'd rather have the additional training sessions toward the end of his build (4 way multiple training) and have a better chance of having 4 AEQ pieces, rather than 3.

It is completely dependent upon how many multi-training events you will have before you stop training the particular attribute. There is a post somewhere that shows these points fairly definitively, but suffice it to say that the longer you will spend training an attribute in the multi environment the higher you can go to get the larger gains......

3X is the best way to be honest. Your thinking is missing the mark.

That doesn't make any sense.
You need to see if those extra training sessions are worth the difference it would make in all the training sessions up to that point, not just look at flat values!!
If you're getting 10% extra per train in 50 training sessions, why do you care that you would get 50% less in 4 training sessions? You're still coming out 300% on top!!

If enhancing that attribute can get you can extra point in that attribute it can be worth it depending on the level of that attribute at rollover.
It costs 15 BT's to get one SP, so if you get one extra point in an attribute below the first cap, it's worth 15 BT's, so if you only enhanced once, thats a cost of 6 BT's for a 15 BT increase. However if you 2x enhanced it, thats an increase worth 15 BT's that you paid 18 BT's for. But if that extra point comes after the first cap, it's now worth 30 BT's. And if that point comes after the 5th cap, it's worth 75 BT's.
So calculate what the % increase gets you, and then see how many times you will train.
So if you're getting 30% increases, a 1 star enhancement is worth 3% and would require 34 training sessions to get one point.
A 2 star enhancement is worth 6% and would require 17 training sessions to get a point etc.
5 star can be incredibly useful though IMO.

I 5 star enhanced jumping on this dot just so I could get an attribute with no ALG's past the fourth cap without sacrificing the rest of the build. I also literally trained jumping for near the entirety of his career.

In your opinion was the high jumping and 10 in Hurdle worth the investment?

Yes, during season 26.
Just about 40% of his broken tackles were hurdles, and almost 70% were diving tackles during the regular season.
After that he barely managed to get 3-4 hurdles a season. Bort claimed that it was never nerfed, but I had trouble believing that since he was in SEAPL the entirety of his plateau. Now, I'd say that hurdle as an SA is worthless for most everybody, but Jumping helped substantially at breaking tackles. Strength and SA's were one of the last things I added in his build and even during level 30's, and 40's when I was circle capping jumping I was noticing a LOT of broken diving tackles, even before I finished with carrying.
I've also done something similar with my current Scat FB, who has 74 strength despite it getting no ALG's for that archetype as well, and I'm doing something like that with a DT to get jumping to 80 currently, and with a couple DB's to get catching rather high without too much sacrifice.
3x and 4x enhancements can also be extremely useful on your main attribute if you intense train it while you are capping it with enhancements and then include it in your multi-train, you can get it up into the 100's without much loss to your secondaries and tertiaries.

Remember that hurdle doesn't show up on the PBP if another tackle-breaking SA also fires...
EDIT: And careful of 4 staring, it rarely (if ever) is better than 3 stars and 5 stars...

4 starred strength, agility, and tackling as a build experiment. http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=3149200
It's very difficult to talk in absolutes about build methods.

The dot had spin in S26 as well. You can see his broken tackle #'s dropped off quite precipitously after that season as well, and it wasn't till I slummed around in regional pro during decline that I actually saw hurdle fire more than 8 times in a season. I know it doesn't show up when spin also fires, but the drop off was so huge and sudden with no change in the build or his competition that I really had to wonder if it wasn't nerfed.
