Don't mean to necro post on this ... but had a related, if slightly different question on the GL TE depths.

If I fill in the GL TE depth chart 3 deep, it seems to invariably put my 2 "squishies" inside, and the slow good blocker on the outside.

I tried setting it on the GL plays to use TE1 + BTE ... and it seemingly completely disregards this even with the GL depth emptied out. (With the additional minus of it pulling my backup RT in as the 3rd TE instead of one of the rTEs)

There a way to fix this ... or is this "by design"?

I've done a lot of tinkering with the depth chart and energy in Goalline, so perhaps I can help you.

First of all, are you talking about this team?

I see you're using the Goal-Line Specific depth-chart slots, which is fine, but keep in mind that there's no way to set specific energy settings for any of those Goal-Line Specific depth-chart slots. Instead, the Goal-Line Specific depth-chart slots just go by the energy settings from the Basic Offense tab (or the Basic Defense tab for the defensive Goal-Line Specific slots, but that's not relevant for us.) What are your Basic Offense energy settings set to? 98/99 is probably the only setting that will give you even a prayer of evening out the plays.

However, you also have to keep in mind Stamina... if one TE has unusually high or unusually low Stamina compared to the other TEs, that's gonna throw things off. Also, if some of the TEs are playing on Special Teams but others aren't, that's going to throw things off even more.

One last piece of info that may be useful in general, though I don't know how much it will help you on this question... when GLB fills the TE spots in Goalline, it starts with the inner-right TE, then the left TE, then the outer-right TE, in that order.

Hope this helps you! I had to figure all of this out myself so that I could get my TE assignments in GL plays to work the way I wanted them to. Took me several games of experimentation, but once I figured it out, my GL TE assignments have behaved perfectly ever since.

Yes I read that.

I was asking if basically the only way to do it is by murdering the guy who's coming in at TE3 (outer right) on energy so he's always picked last?

I'm not looking to even out snaps at all ... just keep the "squishie" from getting rev caked in 2 ticks.

Just wanted to make sure. Some people just tack on a new question at the end of a thread without reading the prior posts.

Well, let me narrow things down a bit for ya... don't want to give too much away at the risk of letting people in my league figure out the way I do things on Goalline plays, but maybe I can nudge ya in the right direction. Re-read my post above and think about what 98/99 does. Now, think about what different energy settings would do instead...
