I find when people get an alert telling people the team has been sold, and bought, they delete the alert and lose all chances of releasing themselves from the team by themselves.
Once a team is sold, and bought, the players on the team should be able to find the link in more then one place, so have the link activated on the contract offer page for three days giving them the option to release themselves if they delete the alert.
