It seems to me when a thread is locked because it is a bug a moderator should do some lifting on it. They can post where you can go if you believe things are a bug, but since they believe it to be a bug they could post that they are creating a ticket for the person as well. It might look something like this on the lock posting.

Note that I went ahead and already created a ticket for you. I have asked support to contact you when the issue has been resolved.

That said, I suspect this will be locked with a suggestion to contact Support if you have issues with the way the moderating team is handling things.

EDIT - In that scenario Support would be the right option since Bugs Mods don't have access to XP logs to see what's happening.

In after edit - Also, its better for the user experiencing the issue to report it. That allows the user to track progress and makes it easier for support (or bugs mods) to communicate with the person reporting the issue.
