sometimes ridiculous is fun

anyone who says they hated the 50-49 games with a bunch of stats for everyone is a fucking liar

If you remember correctly that is exactly how counters worked when they first came out and they were super OP'd.

I don't remember. Not sure I was around at that time.

One thing with counters is, defenses SHOULD adjust rather quickly. Bite less on the counter. So, instead of fixing the effect, GLB completely changed the play into something that is definitely not a counter? Makes sense...

Things would be different if dots could go at "less than full speed"...

counters were overpowered because people could not totally stack against them like every other rush.

and since defense was skull fucked for many seasons before that it turned into a lol fest.

SO in glb fashion they fucked up the counters just as bad as the defense.

They changed the reaction. Defense used to bite hard and get sucked up by the blocking. Now they don't and the play is just too slow moving to do anything unless you get some pancakes.

Except your only hope defensively would be finding a blitz that works some of the time or pray. As an OC you could use all the hardest routes to cover in too many different ways.

probably for the OC for a couple days. And then you realize you are just playing preset defenses.

this game has a hell of a lot more guys that just build dots than play OC or DC

i can tell you those days were fun for everyone and if you disagree you are a fucking liar

todays game is fun for OC/DC but not for dots since they do nothing every game

Yeah, I'm cool with offensive players piling up yards and TDs as long as the defenders amass INTs, sacks, and FF.

exactly

and those 50-49 games had stats for everyone

that was unrealistic so they had to "fix" it and while they fixed it they alienated a huge part of their customer base.

Sorry no one pays $100 for a HB who rushes for 50 yards a game or a defensive dots who has 4 tackles

An OPC that has no bearing on the game itself wouldn't be a bad idea. In fact, it could be a pretty cool distraction. Catch22 could run contests where a couple of user-created plays he likes each season would be sent to Bort for testing, and if they're not too overpowered then they could be added to the general playbook, either adding to the existing plays or maybe replacing a couple. Then again, I imagine it would soon get frustrating to draw up all these plays and never see most of them in action.

Stop turning my sarcasm into nice ideas
