From the SP screen, there are the Yellow and Blue stars; What about highlighting the entire button with Red, Yellow or Green backgrounds so someone in less competitive leagues, or who doesn't have the time to read through forum posts can know where their player is deficient, and can add SP to their Red or Yellow categories.
