This dot is built with high jumping so that he can dive laterally across the LOS to tackle the ball carrier.

I admire the thinking... but I suspect the actuality isn't going to meet the expectations. Build is fine but from what I see around the LOS, there's a lot of clutter and blocking going on. I suspect diving tackles happen more often outside of the LOS... not that they don't happen at the LOS... just that they don't happen enough to make it worthy of an entire build philosophy.
All that said, the build looks fine and should preform well enough.

Your suspicions are completely wrong. Most of a DTs tackle attempts will be of the diving variety, for instance 58% of my DT's last season: http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=3823981 I can't say if his 62 jumping (which I added before last season) helped with the success rate of diving tackles or increased the radius at which he could attempt them. He missed about the same rate, but it was a higher level of competition. He did attempt a lot more tackles, but that could be because teams were running up the middle more often. I had the same idea as you, Air. I thought the extra jumping would not only give some pass deflections but hoped it would help with diving tackle attempts.

Good to know, JD. It's not a stat I've tracked extensively... and I have seen a few diving tackles in the box (LOS) but not a plethora of them so I simply suspected it might not happen enough to get crazy with the cheeze-whiz (aka, jumping here). That's the fun of the game though... still figuring things out and trying different stuff. I'm sort-of doing a similar thing with my CB (going off in a new direction instead of the cookie cutter builds). Just an idea I had some time ago and tried out... and wow... had some serious success... so I'm trying it again, this time with a different archetype and a few tweaks on the build process.
I still say the build looks good (the DT) and should preform well enough. One thing the OP didn't post, but I suspect (without going to have a look myself) he's built tall so that should help also.

Dline has higher % of their tackle attempts as diving of any area on def Wizz.

Cool. I just remember seeing a bunch of CB's, safeties, and LB's doing most of the diving. Just saying I don't watch enough of the D-line to really say they have lots or few. And that's just me and it's been a long time since I even paid any attention (WAY back when I was a DC) so I'm not doubting you guys at all.

That has been my experience, GLB in general seems to have a lot more diving tackles than would be realistic IRL but anyway Dline certainly account for a higher percentage than other positions. The main reason is that they are forced into it by the fact they are being blocked, DBs/LBers normally get to run at unblocked and can attempt a wrap up takle.

Most DT tackles happen after the runner has already passed them, and since the runner is usually much faster the DT has to dive.
It's the way I see it anyway. I also find it very annoying and the reason why it's hard to break off big gains on inside runs.

This probably also explains why PB's (built correctly, of course) do much better up the middle than other HB archetypes. That "kinda" makes sense... but not complete realistic sense. In reality (I know... reality is a law of physics college course that GLB never passed) good small backs (elusive, like Barry Sanders... or Jamal Charles) can also succeed in rushing the middle.

Definitely a good idea. Not sure you need 68 jumping, 61 should do and you can put those ~20 points towards SA's or possibly higher speed. My DE with diving tackle has been quite solid with only 50 jumping though I would have liked him to have 61.
