one of my main gripes is the lack of suitable lightning, or a way to prevent shit from spawning.

it's essentially legos, but building large structures is discouraged because you need to put torches fucking everywhere, otherwise creepers spawn and blow up everyything

yeah i hear you on that. i kind of wish wylker would just turn creepers off. i'll get at him about htat.

well its not just creepers, while they are the most annoying

but making a big castle, just to have skeletons spawn everywhere unless you have a ridiculous number of torches is annoying as well. Unless you're going for a "haunted" castle, then maybe, but i dunno

there needs to be a mod that adds blocks you can make that prevent shit from spawning...even if they were diamond blocks or something

i had the only entrance to my fort being a 1 tile wide bridge, covered in traps that tricked gobs into dodging off the bridge. Outside of the bridge, was a 30 story drop on either side.

At the bottom I had rows of iron spikes sticking up from the ground, surrounded by glass windows...surrounding the windows, i had my dining room set up where all of my dwarves ate all of their meals

then i also had the rows of spikes designed as a sacrificial chamber, where i would send unwanted children in then have a dwarf repeatedly pull a lever that would make the spikes repeatedly retract then shoot out, turning the previously unwanted child into an indistinguishable lump of meat and blood
