Look at KFC.

They started getting focus group data a few years ago telling them that customers wanted more healthy options on the menu. So, KFC added grilled chicken to their menu to try to please more people and bring in people who weren't already coming to KFC.

It backfired big-time. People who wanted healthier food looked at the grilled chicken, decided it still wasn't really all that healthy, and still didn't go to KFC. And the existing customers... merely seeing grilled chicken on the menu served to remind people how unhealthy fried chicken is, and some people actually stopped going to KFC altogether because of that reminder. And KFC's profits took a nosedive for a while.

Turns out the best way for KFC to make money is to just sell fattening food and not remind anybody of how fattening it is. By listening too much to what customers said they wanted, KFC got away from offering people what they actually wanted. And that's why KFC has recently gone back to emphasizing their fried chicken in their ads.

Too bad, too... I actually like KFC's grilled chicken better than their fried chicken. But I guess I'm in the minority.

I loved their grilled chicken sandwiches. They were really good.

I agree on KFC's grilled chicken. I actually do a lot of this market research crap with work, but companies usually think what they want to think regarding the data instead of listening to informed analysis.

So everyone bitched that GLB wasn't out of beta so all the large scale changes would stop, now that it is out of beta, people are bitching that there aren't any more large scale changes? You people are fucked in the head.

That is as far as I am willing to play the analogy game with you. GLB isnt a menu item it is the whole picture.

And the argument is "GLB isn't doing much with Suggestions". That's tampering with the ingredients, not making major changes. This isn't major sim swings we're talking about, this is little things.

As I said, you are bitching that you don't get more paprika, because the chef is busy elsewhere. So keep screaming about not getting more paprika while we all laugh at you making a fool of themselves in the restaurant.

GLB really should open a restaurant, or at least franchise a Dippin' Dots

@ how stupid Deathtool is, I legitimately thought he was actually kind of intelligent, to my bad judgment.

and Phantom forgot to take his meds this morning,
someone walk him to back to the retirement homes.

Anyway, ty Stevent for proving my point, and I feel like donk3y understands as well.

Small changes should happen (at an appropriate rate) regardless of what's coming out in the future....

Just because a Diner wants to expand, it doesn't mean everyone must stop working or slow down their working efforts because a new restaurant is opening up. (another lolanalogy for this thread.)

I guess you don't recognize that I was indicating that the small things enhance the experience.
