This is in reference to a previous thread. http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=5069360&page=1

The MVP calculations are simply off. I don't know what metric causes something like this to happen but it should be addressed.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=2527935
-Currently #1 in ST MVP ranking.
-32 tackles, 3 FF, 1 fumble recovery, 0 TD's

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=2301535
-Currently #2 in ST MVP ranking.
-31 tackles, 6 FF, 0 fumble recoveries, 0 TD's

Well, to be clear it's not a bug as the MVP formulas are working as they are coded. That's been well stated in the past from threads of this nature.

Secondly, the MVP rankings take into account statistics from a team perspective. If #1 accounts for more of his team's ST's statistics or contributes more towards his team's success then he is going to be higher up in the rankings.

I understand this as it equates to offense, but it makes no sense for special teams.

Asau has worked diligently to collect some of the best STOP players in the game. Why am I penalized simply because I have great players around me. They have in no way contributed to my dots success, as forced fumbles on special teams are an individual effort.

In addition, my player isn't slightly better than the #1 guy, he's CLEARLY better.

Those other dots don't have Monster Hit, Big Hit or Aura?

Guy in 1st place - http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=2527935

FF#1 (Team lost the game)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player_replays.pl?player_id=2527935&game_id=2331859
The returner is tackled 1 time prior to the FF. The tackle was a monster hit by a teammate. "Assisted" forced fumble.

FF#2 (Team lost the game)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player_replays.pl?player_id=2527935&game_id=2331667
The returner is tackled 6 times prior to the FF, including 2 monster hits by him, and 2 by teammates. "Assisted" forced fumble.

FF #3 (Team lost the game)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player_replays.pl?player_id=2527935&game_id=2331657
He is the first player of the game to tackle him. "Independent" forced fumble.

Guy in 2nd place - http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=2527935

FF#1 (Team won the game)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player_replays.pl?player_id=2301535&game_id=2331611
Returner was tackled 8 times prior to the FF, including 3 tackles by him with 2 monster hits, and 5 tackles by teammates with 1 monster hit. "Assisted" forced fumble.

FF#2 (Team won the game)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player_replays.pl?player_id=2301535&game_id=2331612
Returner was tackled 1 time prior to the FF, standard tackle. "Independent" forced fumble.

FF#3 (Team won the game)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player_replays.pl?player_id=2301535&game_id=2331613
The returner was tackled 13 times prior to the FF, 3 of which were tackles by him with 2 monster hits, and 10 tackles by teammates with 5 monster/big hits. "Assisted" forced fumble.

FF#4 (Team won the game)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player_replays.pl?player_id=2301535&game_id=2331615
Returner was tackled 3 times before the FF, with 1 big hit. "Assisted" forced fumble.

FF#5/6 (Team won the game)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player_replays.pl?player_id=2301535&game_id=2331620
Returner was tackled 4 times prior to the 1st FF, with 1 big hit by him and 1 monster hit by a teammate. "Assisted" forced fumble.
Returner was tackled 3 more times prior to the 2nd FF, with 2 tackles by him, one of which was a monster hit. Although this is technically "assisted" due to the play earlier in the game, the only real morale reduction came through him. I consider this an "Independent" forced fumble.

As you can see, most of the forced fumbles for both players (2/3 for him, 4/6 for me) were assisted. The difference is here that my guy has double. Also, his team won every single game that a turnover was forced during.

TL;DR
Please do something to correct this. I understand that individual performance cannot be the ENTIRE calculation, but it certainly needs to hold more weight than the current calculations give it.

As was discussed in the FAQ forum post on the same topic, and quoted above, Team contribution does have a factor but i don't think you are getting the idea behind what it really means. See below..

For example, lets use forced fumbles. Number 1 player has 3, #2 has 6. However teamwide player 1's team only has 10 total FF, where player 2's team has 24. 3/10 vs 6/24.. 30% of the FF vs 25% of the FF.

What you said above- why are you being penalized because you have better players. It's not that you are being penalized, it's that on a team full of "stars" you are not standing out as much as a weaker team with one outstanding player.

Perhaps it shouldn't work that way, but it's the way they set it up to work so that anyone who makes a significant team contribution can have as much chance even if they are on a crappy team.

I don't know whether or not the MVP calculations need/can be adjusted the way you want, don't really care if they are changed or not. But wanted to give a different perspective on why your player may not be listed #1 right now. Keep playing well and it's likely the other player won't be able to keep up.

Closeness of score really needs to be weighted much more. A game winning TD is of far more value to the team than 2 TDs in a 50-0 game.

This is the only dot I see in WL who should be in first place for ST ranking but ur right the rankings are bad, thats why no one pays attention to them.

Bort has said he is not going to change the way MVP (or HoF) works or is calculated, thus NGTH.
