My team won today 189-0 and it made me wonder if there is a ceiling on points scored.

There is not a ceiling. The score board will only score 255 points though, so you have to add it up manually if you go over, or be in play-by-play to see it.

i.e. - http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=1372241 - with a 312-0 final score but showing 255-0.

I remember a couple games had over 1000 pts scored.
