If my players are stuck on a team full of inactives - is there any way to get the players off the team, or just have to wait til contract ends and suffer in the meantime?

14 days of owner inactivity, contact customer support, they will get you off that team.

Try sending support a PM they might help you, but after the owner has been inactive for 2 weeks they will make the team CPU.
