Have fun with it this season, and retire him at the end of the season. I am about to say somethings that you might not understand yet, but they will become clear as you build your player throughout this season.

You really needed to get to the first cap (48.07+) on your most important attribute before you boosted or at least after your first boost. Also, you needed to wait on your boost until the end of the season. he will probably play pretty decently this season since you have boosted him, but it makes for a weaker dot at the end of his build to work the way you have. Are your dots on teams that have other real players? Perhaps they can give you some pointers along the way as well.

I'll chime in here. I agree with 2bad4u about retirement at end of season. You've fallen victim to "logical thinking". Don't sweat it... many who first come here do the very same thing (I did too). When you start your new safety, be sure to concentrate on speed ONLY. There's many build guides out there but every one of them will tell you to hammer your primary skill hard, fast, and for quite some time (reaching 84 or higher before switching gears). And those same guides will tell you optimum times to boost and where NOT to spend SP's (as you did in spreading out your points... a bad no-no). Again, have a lot of fun with the dot this season and use the time to get yourself ready to build a much better dot. And DON'T feel bad... I retired many dots long before their end because of mistakes made. Better to retire early and save money (flex) than to chase a bad build only to find nobody will sign him when he gets older.

Here's a basic guide for the first season of building a player:

Basic build plan for any .5 ALG dot
If going strength first then pick one pound below the maximum. If picking speed first then pick one pound above the minimum. Enhance the first attribute to 10%, train intense three times, enhance to 20%, then train intense until you have a nearly full bar at 32.9x. Convert 15 bonus tokens to a skill point and cap to 48.9x. Then boost. Next season you'll enhance to 30% and normal train, then second cap, then continue normal training, then third cap. At that point you'll unlock and enhance your attributes for multi-training. Unlock the first, second, and third attributes you plan to cap and enhance all to 30% when possible. Use the free first slot to rotate any other attributes you plan to cap eventually, enhancing each to 10%. Continue multi-training until the first attribute reaches anywhere between 90 and 100 depending upon your build plan. Skill points should be spent in the first attribute until it reaches between 73 and 85 depending upon your build plan and how many attributes you eventually need to increase.
