Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it possible to boost anytime in the season? If so than why do most people wait till the end to boost rather than boost on day 1?

because you get better training and more people are worried about end build

This.
It all depends on what your goal is with your dot.
If all you care about is squeezing every last drop out of your ALGs so that your dot will be at 100% efficiency by the time he hits Level 79, then you'll wait until later in the season to boost. (I've gotten the impression that there may still be times when it's still more efficient to boost early some seasons, but I've never fully tested that in the VPB, so I'm probably talking out my ass on that one.)
But if you intend to have some fun with your dot on the way up and want him to be at least somewhat competitive at every level and not just at end-build, then you'll need to boost at the start of most seasons, with the exception of the first couple of seasons.
In the end, quite frankly, as long as you're building correctly, both types of dots will be just fine at Level 79. Really not a whole lot of difference. But the dots who only boosted on Day 48 will have a slight edge over the other ones, and some people just really want that edge. Their flex, their dot.
Just comes down to what you want out of the game for you, your money, and your dots.

This. ^^^ Better explained; every point a skill increases makes the training gains you get for that skill less and less over time. Boosting early in a very young dots career is much more damaging than boosting early in a level 35 or higher dot. By that time the damage to training gains is so insignificant that it really doesn't matter (unless you're OCD like me and want every fraction of a point
).
