true.

and i think what Donkey has been trying to say this whole thread is, if you want a team to be competitive throughout its existence then NOT boosting to 4 in counter intuitive. can elite dotbuilders and coordinators win in the minors being 3 lvls lower than its competition, yes. is it easy? no.

thats all Donkey has been saying, all this other shit is just picking nits

I guess that makes me elite, which is absurd and therefore wrong.

My Dharma team started as a Pee Wee team and won 5 Gold.gifs in the minors including 3 in Elite and one in Competitive. That same team won a silver in Pro and lost 11 WL games.

I am not an elite co-ordinator or dot-builder.

Maybe it was just a different time, but three levels isn't really a big deal. If you can't win without the three levels, you probably couldn't win with the three levels imo.

the additional SP when levelling up by boosting (compared to levelling up with XP) which you can shove into the primary attribute appears to cancel out the benefit you get by hanging around and training the primary more at lower levels.

I've explained before that you boost the same number of times either way and thus get the same number of "extra" skill points with either method. You don't actually reach caps at a lower level through boosting early, and in fact you may reach them later by boosting early, although that applies more when boosting to 25 than to 4. Ultimately the least complicated thing to do is to boost to 4, which is why I advise people to do so, but you can end up with a better dot by not doing so if you manage it correctly.

given that you have only so many TP you earn over the life of your dot, couldn't boosting to 7 right away (when you can hit the next cap sooner) allow you more training at higher levels for more SP value?

might be interesting to play with

Yes, but at the cost of lost ALGs.
