How do I request my team to get demoted to a lower league, preferably the rookie league

There used to be a demotion request on the team page, I think it appears as it gets closer to day 40. If it doesn't appear just send support a ticket asking to be demoted.
You will need to make sure your roster is empty or full of level 1 dots before they demote you though.

You don't have to do anything with your roster. If you request demotion, any dots on the roster that are ineligible for your new age limit will automatically be removed during team movement.

Not any more!
You don't need to empty your roster before submitting the form. You can leave it as it is, then when Bort moves teams around at the end of Day 41, any players who don't fit into the age group you requested will automatically be cut from the team.
