is pocket crusher a good va for a run stopping DT?

Under your criteria of "run stopping" I would guess not as it is a pass rushing VA.

I'm assuming he meant a strong DT with the RS archetype.

Yes, this is how you make a hook thread. But yeah it's a pass rushing VA, not that great on run stoppers.

No, I would not use pocket crusher or the power pass rush setting. Evasive is much superior, even if you don't have the agility for Technique Man.

The best use I've seen for pocket crusher was a Strength RDE consistently knocking LT's backwards and getting a crap ton of easy hurries, not that many sacks though

I might have to agree. I too considered this with one of my DT's and, so far, it doesn't look like it's helping as much as I thought it would. Good thing I can always swap it out.
