When do you start training or dumping SP into it?

lvl 18 WR with 15 stamina

You really want to work the main attributes for your position/archetype before addressing stamina. Typically, stamina gets first addressed as a multi-training addition (for me, usually after my primary has hit 100 natural and I'm looking for a new attribute to replace it in my multi-training).

Long-term, you'll want 60 stamina at minimum for your WR. I've even seen some dotballers take stamina up to 68 and above (specifically on speed WRs with 160+ speed since they burn energy/breath faster and benefit from running at or near top speed at all times throughout a play).

What Romo/Matt said. For reference I have dots at level 45 that I haven't even started training stamina on yet. They will have 60-68 stamina end build. Probably no need to put skill points in it till closer to plateau, depending on build.

Yeah, Stamina should be WAAAAAAY low on your list of priorities.

What about a One QB situation, when should stamina be addressed in multi training?

Don't wnt to short change those guys building expensive WR's though, but I guess the way this game is set up, would be best to just make do until the time is right.

I really can't think of any position where you want to start capping Stamina until almost the end of your build plan.

Someone here will school me with an important exception though in about 10 seconds.

Generally speaking, For a speed WR:

Speed

Comes first, you want him to finish out at or above 100 natural.

Catching
Agility

are your next two, which one first is debatable.

Carrying
Stamina
Vision

Are the next three, what order they come in is also debateable.

Jumping
Strength
Confidence

Are the last 3, usually capping them once is enough.

Stamina is usually about sixth on my priority list.

So get multi training working the primary, multi train your top four attributes including primary till the free one (one you didnt unlock multi training to train) is 35 to 40 then put in your fifth attribute. In some builds this might be stamina. Usually though its not and you wait till the fifth one reaches 35 to 40 and then begin to Multi Stamina. Usually you wind up light training it when multi ends shortly after wards. Light train it to 90+% 42 or so in that circumstance and then go get Confidence or whatever your 7th attribute is going.

Would STOP's be the exception for stamina? The point of STOP's is to help save your defensive and offensive dots from having to play... and being that ST's are 1/4 of the game and potentially use up the most energy on average. Would you say that STOP's would be a slight exception?

stamina is still less important than speed, strength, agility, blocking and tackling

training til 40 is way too high - better to cap and train above the cap

This.

Keep in mind if you have STOPs, they're probably not going to be playing any regular snaps, just ST plays only. There aren't many ST plays in a game, so that makes Stamina less important. Of course ST plays also take up more energy, so that makes Stamina more important. But the two kinda wash each other out.

So, yeah, Stamina still isn't all that important, even for a STOP dot. It MIGHT get bumped up from #6 to #5 on your priority list, depending on what you're specifically expecting out of your STOP, but certainly no higher than that. And even then, it'll still probably be fine at #6.

as coach of a team currently in the early stages,
guys who put any SP into stamina ATP, or even train it too much right now,
aren't gonna be lasting too long on the team.

this is when guys need to be getting their core atts set up to take advantage of ALGs
and if they are not accomplishing that at this point, they will not turn out to be successful in the end.
whatever is put into stamina now will inevitably take away from the skills you actually need to play.

personally, even in end build, i would much rather have 55 guys with super elite skills,
and below avg stamina that have to be subsituted more often, then guys with pretty good skills
who can play the whole game. id rather sub and keep elite on the field. thats what u got 55 guys fo
