Example:

Send offer to Player A (a free agent).
On offer screen, provide drop down option with players available to be cut.
Select Player B in drop down (a player on your current roster that you are trying to replace).
Player A accepts contract offer.
Player B is automatically cut to make room on roster for Player A.

When your roster is at 55, the free agent can't sign. You have to cut a player in advance and hope the free agent honors their commitment or agrees to join.

So you want to keep the player around while you are actively searching his replacement and not give him the opportunity to be searching an replacement team?

sounds pretty selfish, frankly.

Yeah... it's the same if you have a CPU player holding that spot as well. It would be nice to have the CPU dot automatically dropped when a real contract is accepted. However, you're talking about dissing a real agent in favor of another and some class kinda needs to be forced upon us... otherwise people would abuse this and bad juju would ensue. Still, I'm sure there's a "solution" to this dilemma... maybe something like when we make trades? So you couldn't just drop a dot (unless inactive) for another dot without notification? I dunno. Can of worms here and some slippery slopes.

Idea came from a situation today: Had an inactive/terrible build I needed to drop. Shopped around and found a replacement. Agreed via PM then cut my player, then got the notification he signed elsewhere.

Not much else I can do there.

sometimes life sucks. personally, keep it as is.

Meh, I think this would create more rage than anything.

Sounds kind of like an OC telling the team he quits the day before the regular season starts..
