I've been away from dotball for a couple of years, so I'm not sure if game XP is still the same or not, but do players still get XP based on how many plays they get in a game, or do they get a set amount per game as long as they play?

No, as you stay on a team, you got full XP.
But if you don't stay on a team, you get 0 XP. (or daily? I don't remember...)

If you're on a team, you get a set amount of XP per game, regardless of whether you play 87 plays or 0 plays in that game.
The amount of XP you get per game varies by level.
