Like a DT w/ 60-70 points at speed should be really fast for his position.
like a WR with 30 at blocking should be really good at blocking considering the CBs dont know how to shed block.
Like QBs with 70 speed should be able to run away from line of scrimmage at least and not taking 2 years to take off. or like a MLB with 80 at speed should be able to keep up for a minute with 120speed for HB considering he would bump him a little bit

Whatd yall say?

sounds like a simple little fix...wouldn't require much changes at all...no major disruption or big adjustments needed

I agree. I can't believe no one has ever suggested this before. I mean, redesigning the whole sim engine is a totally viable idea.

Yeah, we can tell.

70 Speed is supposed to mean 70 Speed. That way, I can look at a DT with 70 speed versus a RB with 100 speed and know immediately that the DT will never have a prayer of catching the RB on an outside run play.

If "70 Speed" can mean different things based on position, that sort of comparison instantly becomes impossible to make. How does "70 DT Speed" translate into "HB Speed"? What's the conversion formula? And what's the conversion formula for "DE Speed" to "QB Speed"? And what would "QB Speed" mean, anyway, since sometimes you have rushing QBs and pocket-passer QBs? Would you need different formulas for Speed based on each QB Archetype? How about Power HBs versus Elusive HBs? Or Blocking TEs versus Receving TEs?

This business will get out of control. It will get out of control and we'll be lucky to live through it.

Well this explains it clearly!! Thanks.

PS one of my players was on a CPU team, i think SF thrashers and you were there(NOVUS) sometimes. There was this joke in the forum about YA SPITTLE that does not block on special teams. I thought it was funny!

"YA Spittle does NOT play Special Teams!"

Damn, yeah, I remember YA Spittle. That was way back in Season 2.

Here's the funny part... about a year after that all went down, I somehow came across an article on a gaming site about putting the "role-playing" back into RPGs, and the author turned out to be... the same agent who created YA Spittle. He created the "YA Spittle" character on GLB just to see if actually playing a role would make an RPG more fun, and the rest of us on that D-League team were his unwitting guinea pigs. Good times.

I think we can safely mark this as NGTH.

Not only would this require huge changes, you'd have to deal with the desires to build 160 speed DTs (who then would have superhuman speed because you made 70 (or w/e arbitrary number) speed fast for a DT)
