I've been thinking lately...well wondering actually. Is there a difference between which main attributes are more effective for kick return or punt return. I was kind of thinking that maybe agility would be slightly more important on punt return than speed and speed more important than agility for kick return. Is there any truth in this, or doesn't it matter?

Break tackle skills tend to be a little more important for punt returns as a lot of punt returns the returner is locked into barreling straight ahead.

So...Maybe speed and agility with some spin or juke moves more for kick returns and break tackle skills with some agility and strength/speed for punt returns?

That's what I'd say if you got a choice. It is possible for kick returners not to even be touched so all speed. Punt returns usually need to break a tackle I think at least

ive always personally felt speed is most important for KR
while higher agi and some strength is needed for PR, as they have to break/avoid more tackles
if GLB was more realistic that would include catching too, but it isnt and doesnt obviously

at the end of the day you can have the best damn returner in the history of GLB but if your ST unit isn't set up well you're still screwed

and if your returner/s don't work with the ST's program its N/A...IMO a good return dot looks at his crew and tries to relay what the builds needs in front

and the head on drive most returners have, while frustrating, can be dealt with by building the ST's crew with the returners help

Absolutely. It takes a TEAM... not just a "star". Otherwise you get mediocrity at best.

agreed...

as far as the OP question... PR does need more BT i think.. seams most punts defenders are right on top of you....
whereas KR.. Vision might be key... i still think bort plays a part in overthinking the bonusus...so your guy still does weird shit....

Gotta be careful which level of the league (or the skill of the 'punter') is at. At lower levels you see this a lot (short punts where the returner finds themselves doing a lot of 'fair catching" or getting very poor returns from being too close to the defenders). And, at higher levels, it's done on purpose to limit returners. I just had a game where my returner had 1 return... a kickoff... and probably 10-20 "punts" by their QB (yeah... not the kicker or the punter... but the QB) so that my returner called "Fair Catch" on every single one of them. We won big time (180 something to nothing), but they kept my returner from scoring. It's a tactic you don't dare try on kickoffs because even a poor kick won't be fair caught and you really risk the returner busting one off on you.

You can't try it on kickoffs. The Punter has a slider that the Kicker doesn't have.

I meant you could replace the kicker with a dot that can't kick (like an O-lineman) so your kickoff would be super short... except even a turrible kicker can kick it around 35 yards on kickoffs... so you take a real risk of getting a break-away kickoff return against you.
