I am a DC first/OC second and I don't even like this, tbh.

What's really annoying is that the passing game works fine in rookie. Great, even, if you know what you're doing. It just seems to fall off a cliff like halfway through Prep and only gradually gets better through the middle levels.

Yeah, progressions drove me crazy.

I had it set up so the preferred receiver was the 2 progression in order to allow him to run his route. The QB would just stare down the first progression and never look at our preferred receiver. I compensated by moving our preferred receiver to the first progression. Lo and behold the QB would then flash through 4 progressions never even giving the #1 progression a decent look.

I spent the season changing progressions and tactics and it didn't help out a bit.

Thats it really. Although some of the rookie success is because of terrible coverage due to CBs not being able to stay with WRs on certain routes like (pseudo) curl routes. The CB will tend to defend deep and then try to adjust back and its like a battleship doing a u-turn.

If you're just an Admin looking at these leagues seeing these types of numbers, you won't think there is an issue. The problem is these numbers from University are coming against the lower tier teams in those leagues inflating those numbers. Even in Elite #1 we had at least 9 teams that really didn't even belong in a Competitive League.

Yep, you can pass for 900 yards against lesser teams. lol

Same for me, DC'ing is too easy from Uni through National Minors.

Shit I didn't change tactics hardly at all on defense the last 2 seasons and I had a top 3-4 defense both seasons.

I agree that passing needs to be increased at this level due to receiver's low catching numbers and low QB pass quality %. The running game lacks bc linemen and bTEs don't have their speed applied yet. It's just an awkward stage in the offensive dots life and the defense has the advantage bc they can move their players to any part of the field and create any play they wish.
