I know what vision is supposed to do on QBs. I'm curious if anyone has tried leaving it relatively low in favor of other abilities, and been surprised at how well he did.
I've seen them do well in low leagues where the passing game gets a bonus. I've seen them suck pretty mightily in higher leagues where attributes matter more.
To be fair, they probably don't look as awful as they should....which is true of most builds. You can have a terribly flawed build do much better than you would think at many positions in this game...but it still won't be "good."

It's supposed to help find open receivers and avoid incoming blitzers.
Not sure exactly what it does additionally for a scrambler set on 'often' in the scrambling tactic.
OK, so we have decided it's what Vision does for a scrambler archetype QB. That is a good start.
I'm not trying to be an ass completely, but in all honesty I think there is only a select few that know exactly what it actually does, and Bort is the main person that "knows"
I would imagine a Scrambler arch QB uses it to find open receivers and also when to scramble.....but I swear sometimes even the highest of vision scrambler QB's run smack into defenders.
It's a major attribute , but not one of the top ones. I don't see many people getting Vision up on their QB's 1st. So it may have it's importance but I doubt it is REALLY important. Thinking of other positions that run a lot (HB) vision is not one of the 1st few attributes you build up, so I guess (relating to the op) you could ignore it for a real long time and have success at early levels. By time you reach lvl72+ you should prolly give it attention . Although I don't know exactly what it does as far as the sim is concerned
In addition to the things mentioned above, Vision plays a significant role in pass quality...not nearly as important as throwing, but if you think having 25% PQ AEQ is better than 21% PQ, then your sure as hell ought to have vision over 90 natural.
Not sure it's going to make a ton of difference to scrambling though.
It would be a fun study. You would think it would help you through your progressions faster, or help you find a mismatch out there, but there's no real way to tell, is there?

It does help you through progressions faster, it's a little difficult to say for certain that it actually helps find mismatches, though I believe it does to a reasonable extent.

well sure there is a way to tell. Build 4 scramble archetype QB's, 2 that ignore vision and 2 that make it a priority . Have them play on 4 different teams, spend a buttload of money on flex and pens and paper. Keep track of every game and every stat page throughout their careers and then do an analysis of them.Might take you a couple of years do figure it out, but eventually you will come up with your own opinion.
Yes I realize that is why you asked here, to see what others before have tried and what they think. Would save you time and effort, but in all honesty there is but 1 person that truly knows. That is what makes GLB interesting I guess. Ya got to mix what you have read and seen effective with what you actually do yourself. That being said, I would never (at this point) make a "vision priority" QB no matter the archetype, nor one that ignored it entirely. If you where to and then shared your thoughts on it once it was at plateau that would be great.
Somehow I feel as if I am not helping with the OP at all

Bane, if you're just looking at scrambling away from people, ignore vision. It is simply coded very poorly... Don't blame it on having too much or too low vision.
scramer....59 vision...went higher with throw and agi. but also on the run SA.....kinda a mad I retired this one ...vision is directly related to outside pocket issues but QB basics need to be there

problem is u spent all those sp on SA too early in the build
