Netflix really needs to upgrade their service with Amazon. This is the second time they've had an outage because of the VA center having issues. I thought the benefit of using a service like Amazon was that you could have redundant services available. Obviously Netflix is cheap and is willing to have a single point of failure for 90% of their customers.

One of the pitfalls of using the cloud; your totally dependent on outside resources to make sure your infrastructure is stable. Very surprised that the DR protocols for this situation seemed to be non-existent.

or not use the services provided by a direct competitor that is Amazon Instant Video?
