Bumping back up so those who can make these changes see it before the offseason starts, and can (hopefully) implement them before next season.
i'd like to add something small to this suggestion
ADVERTISE LEAGUE SURVIVOR
seriously. it's tucked away in tiny grey tabs at the top of the FORUMS of all places, and it's reachable from individual league pages via the same tiny grey tabs no one pays any attention to (and who really visits league pages?). it should at least be reachable straight from your team's page... at least most casual players navigate that far every so often. can't think of how many more users would be on it if it had its own tab at the top of the page or a big link on people's home.pl's also, include a link to it in announcements announcing new seasons, or at least give it its own "In case you didn't know, there's a League Survivor game..." announcement. it's sort of embarassing how few people play it considering it's not new. it should be presented as a minigame for the masses (and perhaps the prizes should be increased

+1 to everything except not allowing everyone to see the picks... not sure how i feel about that one...kinda mixed.
biggest +1 to anything that would allow making picks in advance. this was possible back before the system was automated.
other things I'd like to see for Survivor:
something where you can click on a potential choice and see the matchup page or something--even better if a simple mouseover gave a floating snapshot of the matchup
also have something where you can click to reach each league page from the main survivor page in one click rather than two
i also think there should be more info in the matchup pages to make it more fair for the non-greasemonkey users
