ok, so just played a game vs. a team that has players from a team we played last season...

i am fairly (but not 100%) certain that I did not tag any of the players this season on their current team, but when the game ran, the defense reacted to some players as if they had been tagged and when i checked the scout page it showed them being tagged.

so does tagging mark an individual player regardless of what team they are on? or did i tag them at some point and just forgot I did it? do tags not expire each season?

Yes tags carry over. Its kinda a pain in the butt sometimes

Its just best to check the tags before the game and change it if you see something Odd.

Are you sure they carry over even of the player is on a different team. I thought it only carried over if they stayed on the same team?

No, I have seen it in the WL where I tagged a dot on Team A and then the next season he is on Team B and the tag carried over. I have seen other people talk about this before as well.

Cow is correct.

Tags are based on the players ID #, so it will stay with them forever, wherever they go, unless its changed or removed manually.

Thanks for asking the question.

I thought I was just confused.

is it something that could be changed? a certain dot in one system might not be employed the same way in another system... at very least there should be something on the scouting page that explicitly points out that tags are done by ID#

you should be double checking your tags for each game anyways. the only way this can hurt you is if you are a lazy DC and either dont tag or forget to tag a team. Just sayin, tagging doesnt take long at all. it best just to check before meaningful games
