They need to encourage ownership. Someone has 10 Pro Level FAs wanting to start a pro team should not have a penalty associated with it, it discourages buying a team at the higher levels. That chemistry grace period is crap. Just let the dots play and the best team and gameplanners will win.

if you do a little pre-planning, the grace period is long enough to sign every one for a new team. i wouldnt mind seeing a few more days added tho for the spur of the moment teams. good luck trying to fill the roster at the pro level on the spur of the moment. chemistry wont even be in the top 10 of the problems that you'll have to deal with.

by your "penalty" argument, then energy should be removed from the game since players are penalized once they get tired. chemistry is just the team version of it.

If I remember right it was also setup to penalize teams that were "day trading" or rolling "rental players" back when we could trade players for cash (i.e. the good old days!).

It was a pretty minor penalty when compared to cash gains but it was there.

Now I don't see a real need for it.

Huh?

No.

I remember when I took ownership of a team one time, replaced like half the roster because the team needed better dots and I had time to recruit...entered the regional pro season with a bad ass roster, killed older teams in the GLB tourney getting hardware on it and every other tourney we entered...but couldn't even make the playoffs in Regional Pro, due to chemistry. I worked my ass off only to be penalized by some idiotic rule...that team spent one season in Pro before promoting to WL. I had to beg just to have the team placed in pro after that season. I could have lost several of my pro recruits because of that, but in the end GLB was better served by allowing a truly competitive team play instead of some half CPU roster. No thanks to the ridiculous chemistry rule.

we have no plans for revamping or changing how chemistry works. It is meant to reward teams that stay together and punish those that overhaul their rosters. It is meant to emulate how teams that keep the majority of their roster intact understand the team system and mesh better with one another. If a football team replaced over half their roster you would expect a learning curve and lack of cohesiveness to take place. We feel the current system achieves this goal and as such we are closing this as NGTH.
