if a boomer punter is underperfoming on both distance and on hangtime (which kind of defeats the purpose of a boomer vs. technician)...

is the main problem a) settings/tactics, b) needs a lot more strength, c) he doesn't punt as far when his energy is low d) some combination of these

I can only show you examples as I don't know the answer....

Here is my Punter with ~111 strength and ~160 punting

And here is one with ~105 strength and ~172 punting

It seems, so far in their careers, that more strength is a good thing but in my experience it mostly has to do with if you're team is outmatched and therefore punting from inside your own 20 because of the Leg of Steel VA.

It could be a build issue, we haven't seen the punter in reference, but it is most likely just random. Watch him next season and I bet he performs better.

thanks...is a younger dot and average punt distance has gone down after some ST changes where the punter was assigned to some other ST jobs, so I suspect energy is a big factor.

has anyone else seen a connection between breath/energy and punt distance (or kickoff distance)?

Yes....energy/stamina has a direct effect on punting/kickoff distances. How much of an effect is a guess but it does factor into the equation.

Why would a punter be anywhere else on the depth chart besides P and PH?

Yeah P at PH to get a few extra snaps works nicely.

Only time it really damages their energy much is in lolCPU games where you score so much, but then you aren't punting much anyways...
