I know that this will have it's "no way" comments, but it could make the games more interesting and realistic to have football really is. I wouldn't say impliment like season ending type injuries, but maybe a max of 1 or 2 games on the extreme end and 1 or 2 quarters on the more common end. To counter the injuries you could also have a tactic setting that allows you to force a player back in early after an injury (depending on the injury) and have a risk of the injury getting worse. So, instead of a 2 quarter injury it could be a 1 game injury if forced into play and injured further.
Most injuries would come off of things like monster hit, big hit, head hunter and such. This could be a time to add an additional attribute of injury. Probably have no injuries for pee wee levels and possibly rookie levels and then as a dot moves up in age the chance of injury become more likely.
Doing this would make having a solid 55 man roster more important and backups would be more important. I mean if a main HB is getting 40 carries a game, he's more likely to get injured, so having a solid back up to split some amount of the load would be more important and make backups more sought after. More guys would be willing to sign with teams as backups knowing they'll be used still.
Anyway, that's my pitch.
i would love it.
especially if you had season long and career ending injuries. Bring more realism to the game imo.
