Warrior General Games

A lot of ppl were worried about my CB's # of tackles last off season. Many ppl assume that getting a lot of tackles is indicative of a CB getting beat on a consistent basis. in today's game, my CB had 12 tackles, and most of them came in the running game.

and yes, i know the other team isnt great, but that have a fairly competitive team, and have 2 lvl 18 RB's, not a 'HUGE' mismatch, its not like we played a cpu/gutted team.

I judge that as a good game. I only got passed on twice, knocked down 2 others, and made a huge difference in the run game on pitches.

I agree with everything said phat. You can make assumptions off of stats but nobody has any right to say how good anyone is solely off stats.

ouch packers, coming from a former teammate that hurts. U know i played ST's last year lol.

I agree, I don't think you can really evaluated a CB on tackles, as a CB on our team got 10 tackles in a game but then he also got 8 PDs and 2 Ints returning 1 for a TD that game.
He's got 65 tackles so far this season which some may think is bad, but he also has 40 PDs and 9 Ints returning 3 for TDs.

Yeah, they piss the absolute crap out of me, not that I've had much success this season.

My CB's tackles and PD's have gone down this year. After reviewing the games, I realized that the primary reason was that they were rarely throwing to the WR my guy was covering. So I agree, stats can be hugely misleading with CBs. Also agree that tackles are necessarily a bad indication if you look behind the numbers, if those are tackles against HB/FB, then those are positive stats.

I think a CBs tackle number can also be skewed by stopping the HB when he bounces outside/catches a pass out of the backfield.

This happens WAY too much IMO. How many times do you see WRs in the NFL catch balls off tipped passes...you probably see it 3x a week and all those plays are top 10 on Sportscenter for that week.

I see I got 2 tackles and 1 PD in 50 plays this week. 1 tackle I gave up a 10 yard gain. The other tackle came from my pass deflection that went right to the WR who I then tackled.
