Sup GLB people!

First, I'd like to say that I'm a returning player that hasn't played in a LONG time. When I logged in I saw that the players I had created were approaching something like 900 days old, so I thought it might just be about time for them to retire haha.

When I initially played I didn't take the time to do any research about how to build my players efficiently I kinda just went with what I felt like they needed at the time. Coming back now I see that player builds have been pretty much turned into a science and I'm enjoying reading all the guides and stuff about ... well ... everything lol.

Which brings me to my question. How necessary is it to create your players on the "proper days" of the season? I'm not sure what the days are but just as an example I was told that if I wanted one of my players on a PeeWee team then I should create them on day 31 of the season and not sign with a team until the season starts. That way I'll be level 1 and have like 900/1000xp ... or something.

I'm not sure if that's accurate but I'm just using it as an example. Would I really be gimping my players' growth by creating them whenever?

Thanks!

"Proper days" are days 40 to 48. It used to be that you needed to be spot on and create on day 40 (or was it 41). Now you can create any time between 40 (or is it 41) and 48 and you will get the same training points regardless on the day you've created it.

To add to IdRatherFlyFish:

If you do not plan on boosting the player, this range of days gets expanded to Day 40 to Day -1. You will get all the training points accumulated between day 40 and day -1 if you create any day in that range. Once the regular season starts you will lose those training points if you create after day -1.

the leagues, including pee wee, have age limits now rather than the old level caps, so if you create a dot on day 31 for the next season, he would be ineligible for pee wee as they must be 0 days old (ie created off season)

This.

Creating on d31 is old strategy that is now invalid. I think creating on D40-D48 is pretty big, because that gives you tons of training time before you start accumulating any sort of XP. I wouldn't just wing it and stick with guys created at any time.

You can always fool around with dots created now and retire them in the offseason.

You also have a couple of free players.

Feel free to build them now and stick them in the d-league to mess around with the new training options before building a long term dot. You can retire them and get your free players back on day 41. You no longer lose any training by building between day 40 and 48.

Find a team that is starting over and offer to build them a couple of players.

Awesome, thanks for all the information! I guess I'll be messing around with the players I created recently and follow all your advice for my long term players.

Thanks again!
