The Survivor Reward Point awarding rules (and possibly the script if I misunderstood the intent of the rules) can lead to non-optimal awards.

To fix this, suggest to eliminate the first part of this rule and allow for full award even in the case of a tie:

7. All ties will split any prize they are eligible for. Each tied participant takes up a prize pool slot.

This will make the awarding script easy... just award the highest won contest.

The only downsides I see would be
1. GLB would need to dole out more RP (I estimate ~10k RP total a season)
2. There is a slight risk of collusion ... but I think the honor system and competitiveness would win out there.

The current issue with the rules/script is the combination of these two rules:

7. All ties will split any prize they are eligible for. Each tied participant takes up a prize pool slot.

10. You can enter as many contests as you want, but you can only win one prize. If you win more than one contest, you will be awarded first for the contest that has the highest prize amount. All other awards will be given to the runner up.

This means that if you were to tie on a higher valued contest (for instance Regional Pro = 400 RP), you may simply be awarded a portion of that award (ex: 4 way tie on Region Pro = 400/4 = 100RP) even if you won a lower valued contest that had a higher net award (ex University = 175RP). Net net, under the current rules, you'd get 100RP rather than 175RP... Travesty!!!

I know that Survivor is just a fun addition to GLB and that the fact that there is an award in it at all is awesome. Just think it'd be more fun to show the RP love

I never understood that. It's not like reward points are a tangible product that has to be produced. There's no return on them after you use them (like there is for flex) either so I don't really see the few reward points dealt out hitting GLB in the pocket all that hard.

Good point, CT. Yes, with less Pro leagues they will award 2000 less RPs.

+1 or at least have a minimum of 100 for each winner--there were some where 3 or more split it and everyone got less than 50 RPs. not much you can do with that...

As someone that works in the both the Flex & Reward point mines, I would like to tell you SCREW OFF. There is constant danger in the mines, mine wall failures and vehicle collisions; underground mining hazards include suffocation, gas poisoning, roof collapse and gas explosions, not to mention Chronic lung diseases, like Black Lung.

But yeah +1

I love the fact that it costs $1,000 for 250,000 as if there is a sweat shop with kids making each flex by hand.
