I think what he's saying is having more info readily available to asses your/other teams success, or lack thereof, helps the overall process of scouting (whether it's your team or an opponent). And more stats help that process. I tend to agree as, having once been a scout for many seasons, it was tedious work having to write down info that I couldn't easily access on any one page. I didn't gripe too much because I like to kick it old school and scout a multitude of games to gather my info. But I also used any stats or other pertinent info a lot.
