I think this used to be an option back in the day, is it still possible?

Once the owner is inactive for 14 days, contact support and they should strip the ownership and turn it CPU. Then you should be able to do whatever you need to do with your player.

^ this will guarantee your player's release, you can also message us more quickly then 14 days if you are having a problem with your team owner
