how is it resolved if a ball carrier has Tenacious or Mr First Down (or anything with a % chance at extra yards) and a defender has Brick Wall (or anything % chance to deny extra yards)?

Do they offset or is there some order in which each is checked (pass/fail to fire or something)?

well I am pretty sure each of those are a roll to see if they fire or not, I would assume that if they both happen to fire at the same time than it would be yet another roll to see who wins.

I checked the previous Q&As to see if someone brought up that specific topic and they haven't but since this game is processed based on "rolls" i'd assume this is close to correct.

you could always bring it up at the next Q&A session and see what Bort says

I agree with Rob, pretty sure they both have a roll to fire, and if both rolls "succeed" I bet there is another roll to see which "win" against each other

are these even VAs that require that they fire to gain the bonus? a lot of VAs (and a few SAs) are "always on" types.

Actually you may be right, Mr. first down I know is always on and I am pretty sure Tenacious is, but this quote below is what confuses me.

Answer: They are sorta added, but not directly. tenacious actually gives a player a better chance to use dive, as it makes his overall "fight for yardage" roll better.

I'm not going to say that isn't possible, but I think it's much more likely it's all one roll and those VA's just modify your final score, you then need a certain score to be able to use Dive.
